The podiatrists at the Brunswick Foot Clinic regularly attend seminars and conferences to bring you the latest advances in foot care. In response to his ongoing education, our most senior podiatrist Christopher Wheeler, has gained accreditation through the Australasian Podiatry Council and is recognized as an Accredited Podiatrist.
Allison Fisher studied Podiatry at the Glasgow School of Podiatry, graduating with a Diploma in Podiatric Medicine in 1989. Allison has more than 20 years experience working in both the private and public sectors in London, Edinburgh and for the past 10 years in Melbourne. Allison manages to juggle a busy role working in our clinic whilst being a wonderful mother to three young children. Christopher Wheeler studied podiatry at La Trobe University and graduated in 1984. Chris has more than 25 years experience as a podiatrist and is well known for his success with patients, particularly those with running injuries and complex cases. In his recent application for a Churchill Fellowship, we estimated that Chris has made more than 92,000 patient contacts since he began work in 1985. Chris served on the Council of the Australian Podiatry Association (Vic) for 2 years and in 1988 was appointed editor of the Journal of the Australia Podiatry Council, which later became the Australasian Journal of Podiatric Medicine. Chris serves as an honourary affiliate of the Division of Podiatry for the La Trobe and Charles Sturt Universities. Chris is a Fellow of the Australasian Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine. In 2000 Chris wrote about foot care for travellers in the Lonely Planet series Healthy Travel. In 2002 Chris was one of a team of authors who contributed to The Lymphoedema Handbook. The revised second edition of The Lymphoedema Handbook was published in March 2006. From time-to-time Chris is a guest on ABC radio 774 on Saturday mornings when he talks about foot care. Liam Rothwell completed a Bachelor of Podiatry at Latrobe University in 2006. After working for two years in Australia, Liam moved to London where he continued working as a podiatrist and travelling. Liam enjoys all aspects of podiatry in particular biomechanics and sporting injuries. This is due to Liam's keen interest in running as well as his involvement in hockey at a high level.
