Meet Andrew Ferguson
After completing his Bachelor of Podiatry at La Trobe University in 2009, Andrew spent the next few years practicing podiatry in Melbourne.
Andrew then made the enviable leap of moving to Japan for two years – an eye-opening and rich cultural experience. He opted to teach English to local Japanese students, as podiatry isn’t practiced in Japan. Explaining what his job was back in Australia was surprisingly tricky!
Now he’s back in Melbourne and loving his work at Melbourne Podiatrist’s Brunswick Foot Clinic. When not taking care of his patients, Andrew loves to get outside and be active. He enjoys playing basketball, hitting the courts 2 or 3 times a week after work.
Andrew also loves running with his gorgeous Kelpie, Ned. An enthusiastic amateur athlete, Andrew has even participated in a few 20km obstacle races such as Tough Mudder and the Spartan Race – just for fun!
Over his career, Andrew has been lucky enough to be mentored by two experienced podiatrists. Ken Weber and Chris Wheeler who have gifted him with their wisdom distilled from decades of clinical practice.
As a lifelong learner, one peak in Andrew’s career was attending the National Podiatry Conference earlier this year. He enjoyed reigniting old connections and learning about new clinical techniques.
Andrew enjoys meeting new people and hearing about their unique experiences and interesting life stories. There is always something to be learned from every patient.
